25 indicted in alleged 'major prostitution ring' in Twin Cities
Twenty-five people have been indicted in what authorities are calling a major prostitution ring in the Twin Cities, the U.S. Attorney's Office said Monday.
Few details were immediately available, and more information was expected to be released at a news conference later Monday afternoon.
A handful of people were arrested Saturday in Minneapolis on charges related to human trafficking for the purpose of prostitution. The arrests led to a protest by residents and immigration advocates — because agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement were there and it appeared to be a raid to round up illegal immigrants.
