its a scandinavian thing, i am norwegian/danish, but i am not familiar with the word..but im sure u could find out somewhere online

Skol- is a norwegian greeting. Or a cheer! As in cheers, or SKOL!!!

Someone made an explanation to this effect a while ago...

Supposedly the Norse gods used to drink their wine from the skulls of their defeated opponents, and would raise their "glasses" and say "Skull!" or "Skol!". It basically means cheers. It's a brotherly thing. So when we say "Skol Vikes!" it basically means cheers to the Vikings. It's in their fight song too.

It's also said that in Norwegian "skall" is a bowl. So they said "skall!" to signify everyone should raise their bowls to drink.
