That's what happened to two Twin Cities men who allegedly embarked on an ill-fated burglary Saturday of a Little League concession stand in Crystal, then landed in the slammer.

Mitchell A. Scudder, 19, of Crystal and Brian L. Current, 21, of Minneapolis stole $30 worth of Skittles and Starburst candy from a stand about 10:35 p.m., say charges filed Tuesday.

According to those charges: A man saw one suspect crawl out the building's window and join a second, both dropping candy as they fled. The man gave chase, to no avail.

Police arrived and found a cell phone inside the building. An hour later the cell phone rang. The caller? Current, who identified himself as the phone's owner, court documents said. Officers arranged to meet up and return the phone. He was identified by a witness as a burglar and arrested.

Under questioning, Current told authorities that Scudder entered the building as he waited sentry outside. The two filled a backpack with candy and ran as a car neared, charges said.

When officers went to Scudder's door, he answered, chewing the rainbow-colored evidence: Skittles.

Twenty bags of booty were confiscated from the floor of his house and another 20 packages were found in a backpack, the complaint said.

In addition to burglary, the two are charged with property damage: In snagging their $30 loot, the duo caused about $500 to $1,000 in damages to the concession stand.

Wow.

These 2 guys are some of the biggest dopes ever. Not only do you steal some Skittles, you have the brains to call and get your phone back?

If that were me, they could have the phone.

Phone was worth more then the Skittles but the court fees will be expensive. WOW.

It sounds like you've done some skittle theft in the past Ultra. I guess if you like them you can't control yourself.
