If you say something long enough – no matter how absurd, illogical or wrong it may be – someone just might start to believe it. That's the only way to explain how the open–wheel folks at the Indy Racing League came to implement its latest rule change: From now on, the minimum weight for IRL cars must include the driver.

Danica Patrick lost control of her emotions again today as she got in a long, loud and sometimes violent argument with a nearby, unmanned Indy Car.
“What are you looking at, huh?†Patrick started in, seemingly unprovoked, on a race car parked in a neighboring garage. “Say something you piece of sh-t. You think you’re too good to talk to me? You don’t talk to women, is that it? Well, screw you, car. Screw you. I’ll take you out.â€Â
Members of Patrick’s team quickly swooped in to stand between Patrick and the car, hoping to defuse the situation before her antics were witnessed by reporters.
But she refused to back down.
“Get your hands off me! Don’t touch me!†she yelled at her crew chief. “I can handle this car by myself. You hear that car?! Oh, still not talking, huh? You scared, car? Yeah, you’re scared of me. Looks like you crapped yourself.â€Â
Crew chief Roger McGriff then tried to reason with the now enraged Patrick, telling her that cars are inanimate objects incapable of engaging in fights or looking at people at all – and that what she thought was feces expelled in fear was just a small oil spill completely unrelated to the argument.
“Don’t talk to me like I’m stupid, Roger!†Patrick yelled back. “Are you going to take this guy’s side? Is that it? All I know is that I was walking to our garage, I passed by this car and the thing just stared at me with that stupid expression. Until it tells me what it’s looking at, I’m not leaving, okay? You hear that car, I’m not leaving!†she added, hurling a wrench that clanged off its cone. “I will not be disrespected by a fâ€â€king car! I worked to hard to make my way. I earned it, okay?! That car was just manufactured in a factory somewhere and delivered here. You have no character, car! No heart!â€Â
Now worried that the car would be damaged as she whipped another wrench, a crew member jumped into it and drove it out of the garage as Patrick wildly kicked at the tires.
“Oh, yeah! Drive away! Drive away! I knew you were a pussy!†she yelled as the car sped onto the track to safety. “Drive away like a little bitch. You drive like a girl, you pussy! No one respects you!â€Â
