    Shooting in my neighborhood

This happened about 8 houses down from me.
I saw the police activity over the weekend, but did not actually know it was a shooting until Monday morning in a email from our Association board president (I serve on the Homeowners Association Board).
    Kind of scary.

Aurora man charged in shooting at party
Three hurt after shots are fired inside, outside house in Warrenville

A 30-year-old Aurora man is facing attempted murder charges after a weekend shooting in Warrenville that left three people injured.

Ignacio C. Rosario, of 534 Hoyles Ave., has been charged with two counts of attempted murder and two counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm, authorities announced Monday.

Rosario was arrested early Saturday after a shooting that happened about 3 a.m. near Prairie Avenue and Patterman Road.

Warrenville Police Chief Raymond Turano said the shooting occurred during a party in the Thornwilde subdivision.

Rosario attended the party as a guest with a female juvenile. Turano said investigators still are piecing together how many people attended the party and how the shooting started.

"We're thinking some type of argument (led to the shooting), but our investigators are still following up on other items of interest," Turano said.

Turano wouldn't identify the youth Rosario brought to the party or the three people who were shot.

Police said shots were fired both inside and outside the house.

The three gunshot victims were taken to Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. Police didn't know their conditions but said the injuries didn't appear to be life-threatening.

Officers found Rosario near the scene, authorities said.

Rosario was being held Monday in the DuPage County jail on $2 million bond.

You never know when random acts of violence will happen. I've lived in some pretty scary places, and more than once have had to get down on the floor when the local gangs were shooting at each other. Thanfully I'm outta there. But just a month ago someone was shooting target practice and killed a 7 yr old boy. So even when you think you're safe stuff rears it's ugly head. Thankfully you and yours are alright.

So the crazy thing is...I was telling my employee about what we found out at the meeting and she just kind of started saying the same thing I was going to say before I said it.
It turns out the shooter was her cousin's "baby daddy" as she said.
She knew a lot more than we were told by the police chief at the meeting.
I know he could only tell us so much, but it is interesting to know more of the story that he was/could not tell.
