Shooter
I just came across this interview with a marine sniper who has over 60 confirmed kills and thought it was interesting to hear him talk about his experiences and thought that maybe some of you would like to hear it as well.
That has to be the hardest job in the military to live with.

He did not write it. It was a book on his tours in Vietnam.

Re: Shooter
I read one about a Vietnam Scout Sniper called "Dear Mom, A Sniper's Vietnam". That book was pretty crazy. At one point he talked about how the drill instructor (survival training) came out petting a rabbit, then snapped it's neck and started to drink its blood, and then went on to tell how every part of the rabbit could be used for something. Fun stuff.

Marine Sniper By Charles Henderson looks like a good read. I'm into all kinds of military history and biographies. Currently in the middle of 1776 by David McCullough. It will be nice to get into something a little more current. I'm gonna have to check it out.
Even babies know the difference.

Yeah, I know that he didn't write it...because I met the author, Charles Henderson...it was actually by circumstance...his brother, Sam Henderson, was working as a salesman for me in Dallas (in my former life as a sales manager) and Charles came by to see him at work one day...anyway, Sam went out and got some paperback copies of his brother's book and got his brother to sign them for me and the other salesmen. Charles was a former Marine who had gotten access to many of the military records during his research and had many cool stories to tell about the writing of his book. I don't normally read much about military history, but after reading the book I gained a healthy respect for Carlos Hathcock...the chapter about how he took out that general was AMAZING...he had nerves of steel and was one of the most fearless men that I have ever heard of...I just learned that he recently passed away...may he rest in peace...he was a true American hero!"cajunvike" wrote:
