Shockzilla's Trivia Question - Gambling Edition!
Hey boys and girls, it's been a while! I wanted to do a trivia question, but couldn't find one I liked. Well, today, I finally did.
Here goes: What was the largest line on an NFL game (i.e., what was the most points a team was favored by?)?
Bonus: What two teams?

Re: Shockzilla's Trivia Question - Gambling Edition!
I'll bet it was 35 or 28 when the Pittsburgh Steelers played against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers way back in 1976.
They beat the Bucs 42-0

Re: Shockzilla's Trivia Question - Gambling Edition!
I know that the Pats were favored over the Dolphins by 16 points a couple of weeks ago. But my guess is that there waa a higher point spread than that.

According to Robert Walker, the Director of the Race and Sports Book, the highest anyone can find is Steelers-Bucs in 1976. Pittsburgh was defending Super Bowl champ, the Bucs were first-year expansion babies who finished 0-14. The line was 24. The Steelers won, 42-0.
