Hey all, haven't been on much lately, thought I'd come back and see if I can stump anyone...
Name the only QB to lead a team to both an NFL and AFL Championship.
Shouldn't be too hard folks, but have at it!

I think this is a trick question, even though you want to make it sound easy. Have to be something close to the first SB in 66......
PUKERS won the first two but I don't think thier QB ever played in the AFL. First AFL (AFC) team to win the SB was the Chiefs (or Colts) a few years later but I don't think the Chiefs won an AFL championship and the Colts had Mr. Playboy as thier QB. He was way to young to have played in a AFL championship.
I give up. Gonna go google, however, I will say Starr, even though I think it is wrong.
George Blanda
Hmmm, interesting. But did he lead a team as a QB in the NFL or was he just a kicker.Quote:

I haven't found the answer yet though. Got half the building trying to figure it out.
(On a side note: Easy my ass Shock. This is a good one). :P

I also thought of Sammy Baugh but he was a coach in the AFL
Len Dawson
When Dawson won the Super Bowl the NFL Championship was still separate as the merger wasn't fully completed between the 2 leagues yet and the Vikings were the NFL Champions, Chiefs were the AFL and Super Bowl ChampionsQuote:

Oilers 1962 OT loss to Texans Blanda noodle 23 of 46 1 td and 5 picks AFL Champ game loss (his 42 picks season in 14 games)
only one 1 start as a QB from 67 to 75
wonder if Brett can kick the ball, maybe he could replace Shortwell and become noodle leg ;)
