Shock's Big Adventure
First off, let me say I am NOT doing this to get attention, or to get any "atta boy" comments or anything like that. I am doing this to make a change in my life. I consider you all some of the best friends I have, and I need your help and support.
My weight has been up and down all my life, but mostly up, at least in my adult years. And, as a result, I have diabetes, which in turn allows me to look forward to such fun things as heart disease, kidney disease, possibly blindness, stroke, and who knows what else. Anyway, I have decided that enough is enough. I am tired of feeling like crap all the time, and I have decided to do something about it. I have a membership to Gold's Gym in town (free plug for them), and my wife has been generous enough to allow me to purchase 12 sessions with a personal trainer. I started last week, and I have already noticed a drop in my blood sugar levels - they have regularly been below 100 for the past week (those of you with diabetes know whereof I speak - that's good).
So, where you guys come in is I need encouragement, motivation. I am notorious for going for a few days, then letting a week go by, then starting again. This time it's different - I have to keep this up if I want to see my 70's and 80's. I also wanted to post honest pictures of myself starting out, so when I get to the end of my goal, I can see where I've been.
My goal is to lose 100 lbs. by the Super Bowl. With your help, I can do it!!!! Thanks in advance for all your encouragement and motivation! I will check in here weekly, and occasionally post pics of my progress.
Below, the awful truth:

Atta boy...for having the courage to confront this shock.
I know all too well about diabetes.
My dad died 10 years ago last March at the young age of 47 of a heart attack due to being a diabetic.
Losing weight is not an easy thing, it takes a helluva lot of heart and strength.
I am no Mr. Fitness but I have dropped weight and done a ton of research.
There are a ton of sites out there for you to use.
I go to a body building forum and ask questions.
You get a lot of great insight and answers.
There are a ton of little tips that are very helpful.
All I do is consume less calories, eat something healthy and small every 3 hours, do not eat after 6 pm, and you MUST drink a buttload of water.
At night when your stomach starts to ache, eat a spoonful of reduced fat peanut butter.
It kills the ache and slowly feeds your muscles while you sleep.
Good luck my friend, keep us posted!

The more weight you lose the longer your penis will look when you look down.
Now that's motivation!
