Well, I finally did it and she replied the right way! On August 7th I proposed to my longtime girlfriend (known to some as GB4LFE) and she said yes!! It was a very nerve racking time but once it was over it felt great. She absolutely loved the ring and we are already starting the planning!
I'll keep it short on how it was done.
We were on vacation in northern sconnie with her family (there were 15 of us total) at a resort on the Chippewa Flowage outside of Hayward, WI. Across from our resort was a little island where everything was set up. Here's how it happened. Her dad took her for a boat ride to some random part of the flowage. Then on the pontoon boat her uncle and some other family memebers brought over a table, roses, champagne, ring and rocking bench to the island and positioned it behind a tree and some shrubbery. Then when she got back from the boat ride I asked her is she wanted to go for a ride on a jet ski, she said yes and I made a beeline for the island (because I was so d@mn nervous!). We got to the island and I pulled the jet ski up onto a sandbar and walked to "proposal area" leaving her at the jet ski (I blame the nervousness). She eventually followed and when she walked around the shrubbery I was down on one knee and proposed! SHE ACTUALLY SAID YES!! lol Then I proceeded to put the ring on the wrong hand (shoot I didn't know!) and we sat and chatted and drank champagne! It was a perfect day!
