Thread: Shaquille O'neal traded

The rumors became reality on Wednesday and Shaquille O'Neal is now a member of the Miami Heat. The Heat acquired O'Neal in exchange for Lamar Odom, Caron Butler, Brian Grant and a first-round pick. According to Yahoo! Sports' Dan Wetzel, the move presents O'Neal with a golden opportunity

Hey hawaiian, what do you think of the trade?

Personally I think we got about as much as we could have gotten. The only other trade that would have been better, was if we would have gotten dirk, and the mavs wouldn't give him up.

I love Odom and his versitility. He is a 6'10 guy that can play guard. Butler is a young star and will give us much more athleticism and another scorer. I don't really like brian grant and the big contract he brings with him, but I guess that was needed for the trade to work. We also got a 1st round pick too. I for one, am glad this shaq talk is all over and now we can focus on kobe and finding a big guy in FA or a trade. With our new young athletic guys, and rudy T's style of play, we should have a fun run-n-gun team next year.

I think its an alright trade. Cant say too much about it since we dont know how well odom, butler and grant will do. It does add much needed youth and athleticism and finally gives us a young up and coming foward we lacked forever.
INteresting stat is how odom can put up averages of 25.1 points against the sacramento kings. He actually has decent stats against other western conference teams.

Losing shaq is a bummer, ill miss him continously dunking on people and bringing down the rim.

Lets just hope kobe resigns and doesnt sign with the clippers. :shock: IF he resigns we can do pretty good and get to the playoffs again but will get knocked out in the first round or second if we are real lucky.
