Police on Wednesday were investigating how a naked couple fell 50 feet from the roof of a downtown office building to their deaths.

The bodies were found on the road by a passing cabdriver around 5 a.m. Wednesday.

Clothing was discovered on the roof, leading authorities to suspect the man and woman, in their early 20s, may have been having sex. Their identities were not released.

"It's too early to rule out anything," Columbia police Sgt. Florence McCants said, but McCants said a preliminary investigation didn't show any sign of foul play.

My first thought is that would have to be some sort of intentionally sensational suicide pact. I understand enjoying the thrill of an encounter in a risky place, but to really not realize you were so close to the edge.... I just don't think so.

I guess it was just straight sex ehhhh?
Unless that is a typo and they meant fore instead of foul.

That reminds me of something that I saw at a party in the late 70's. It was a kegger at some farmhouse . Plenty of beer, weed, and somebody had handed out a bunch of acid. Me and another guy were sitting on either side of the bottom steps coming off the back porch (on a hill-so there was probably 15 or 20 steps),when we heard the back door slam and some kid landed- "SPLAT"- flat on his back on the ground between us. My friend looks at the kid a says " It's only acid, man- you can't fly."
