I'm glad they didn't get punished.
Yes it is in very very very bad taste, but nobody was actually hurt by it and no rules were broken.
People like to pick and choose what is offensive and what should be punished, but they could have come as dead people from some other tragedy that didn't involve the U.S. and people wouldn't have cared.
It's better to ignore it than make a stir and have people read about it.
