Thread: School Bus Driver Accused of Pot Sales

ORLAND PARK, Ill. - A south suburban school bus driver is facing misdemeanor charges after police say she sold bags of marijuana to a teenage passenger.

Margaret Fittante, 26, of Oak Lawn has been charged with selling marijuana on school grounds and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, according to Orland Park police.

Fittante drove several teenagers from Orland Park to a school for adolescents with emotional problems, police said.

One of the teens said she bought a "dime bag" of marijuana from Fittante once a week for several months. The girl was in drug counseling at the time.

Her mother says she has been "clean for 45 days now" and is in Narcotics Anonymous.

Fittante has been fired from the Alpha School Bus Co. No phone number could be found for her.

She is next due in court on July 14 in Bridgeview.

I dont want to get into an argument about rather or not pot should be legal.....But selling to children is just WRONG, and if my children were on that bus, I would be screaming for someones head.

How would she only be facing misdemeanor charges? That seems like it should be more harsh to me.

Weed charges are just misdemeanor.. Not felonys or anything.. It's a plant

Even selling it on school grounds?

I didn't realize that distribution was a misdemeanor....Its a felony in my state....especially in a drug free zone(school grounds within 500 feet)
