Saunders won't be back as Pistons coach
Flip Saunders was fired as the Pistons' coach Tuesday, four days after Detroit was eliminated from the playoffs by the Boston Celtics. And more changes could be on the way for a team bounced from three straight conference finals.
"Make no mistake, everybody is in play right now," said Joe Dumars, the Pistons' president of basketball operations. "There are no sacred cows here. You lose that sacred cow status when you lose three straight years."

Flipnosis will find work again. For now he can take a year off and still make 3 million dollars. Not a bad gig.

Flip is turning into the Dennis Green of the NBA.
Great at leading the team to the playoffs, but just can't get the job done.
Not to mention he was handed a championship team when he went to Detroit.
As much as I like Flip, the only thing he managed to do while there was not making the team any worse.

Re: Saunders won't be back as Pistons coach
I think flip did a pretty good job with that team. I think the Celtics were by far the better team, of course last year they lost Cleveland and that was bad. Really when you look at the players on the Pistons their is no phenom/superstar and they are all getting older. Rasheed is definetly not the player he once was, same with Billups. Rip Hamilton and Teyshaun Prince are good role players but not superstars. Flip's a good coach and will be able to pick his next opportunity, hopefully it's with the wolves(after they fire McHale).

If McHale was smart, he would hire Flip back.
We have already established that he isn't, so the chances are slim and none.
LOL!
Detroit had a great year under the former coach and Won the championship.
They basicaly have the same guys minus Ben Wallace.
I think Flip did well.
Flip got the most out of those players just like he did in MN.
I would take Flip and Denny anyday over 90% of the other coaches. JMHO!
