Apparently it's a bigger sport/event than even I realized, I mean it has it's own:

And it's own National Championship Tourney
2006 Rock Paper Scissors Tournament
Saturday, June 3, 2006 (12:00 PM)
3000 Westside Road (Yahoo! Maps, Google Maps)
Healdsburg, California 94558
Cost: $20 Competitor, $10 Spectator
Once again, it's almost time for our fourth annual Southwest Pro-Am Rock, Paper, Scissors Championship. On June 3rd, 2006, players from both near and far will descend on Roshambo Winery in hopes of scoring a slice of the $1700 pie. Last year's tourney was earmarked by Newsweek magazine as a "Pick of the Week" and became the biggest in U.S. history. And as word circulates about the insane fun to behold at our offbeat winery, we expect an even larger turnout this year.
The New Twist: This year, we're doling out Funny Money to participants to battle in our "RPS STREET SIDESHOW." This all-day spectacle offers players who get knocked out of the main Tournament the chance to continue competing for prizes. The rules are simple. Whoever holds the most dough when the real Tournament ends wins the 2006 RPS Street Sideshow.
