    Re: Real John Madden quotes.

What's hilarious is when I used to play Madden football for the Playstation, about three years ago, during the game, Madden's announcing would screw up in the game.

It was 2nd and goal somewhere around the 5 yard line and Madden's virtual counterpart says, "They need to work really hard if they want to get this first down".
    What?
Madden looks stupid even when programmed.

The madden-chalkboard, when it first came out, was innovative.
I also enjoyed watching him over his career in the NFL.
The only thing I truly hold against him is the creation of a generation of idiots that equate a video game to real-life football....but that isn't his fault.
    Rock on Madden.
dont hate on the madden players
Q: At your age, can you handle a full season?
A: I m 37, number one. I took my family to Perkins a couple of days ago, and they didn t hand me a senior citizens discount card, so I feel pretty good.

When your arm gets hit, the ball is not going to go where you want it to.

Are you saying that basing your football theories on madden is bad? Personally I base all my opinions on Madden, if I want to know stuff about a certain player....I just go to madden player ratings or else play that player in a game and see how he does. That is why I believe we should trade all our draft picks for Vick.

    Thanks Josdin00 for the sig!

    Re: Real John Madden quotes.

As annoying as that man could be, slobbering all over Favre, I learned more about football from that man than any other commentator.
He could dumb it down better than any other broadcaster and wasn't stupid like Millen who said things like "That's just good football" and "You can't run like a track athlete in the NFL" (referring to Robert Smith, who obviously could).
    Madden actually explained things.
And he was better to listen to than a sloshed Summerall who called out wrong numbers and teams half the time.
Still, Madden did have his classic quotes.

One of my favs is Chris Berman a few years back saying something to the effect of "Eight games ended on the last play today."
    Huh?
I thought they all ended on the last play.
What he meant was the outcome of 8 games depended on the last play.
I wonder if they ever listen to themselves.

    Madden was definitely entertaining.
    I enjoyed the quotes.
    Thanks for posting!
