When the going gets tough, the tough get going. In this case, Smoltz wants to leave because the Braves won't make the playoffs this year.
He's probably tired of LOSING in the World Series all the time (except for that ONE time they won).
When you win the division that many times, you get spoiled. Only 1 world seried win doesn't say much though.
Being a Met and Marlin fan, I've hated the Braves for years. I remember going to the games there and there'd be about 5000 people in the stands. My uncle lives in Norcross Ga and has had season tickets to the Braves for over 20 years. He has 1st row seats where you can rest your feet on the back of the visitor's dugout. It's pretty awesome. I always route for whoever they play when I go.
I think the Braves want to move him because he is one of the highest players on their payroll and they are going to rebuild with younger players, it is sad because when I think of the Bravos I think of Smoltz.
That's very true and he's not as effective as he has been. I have to admit, I thought he was done after his surgery so I give the guy a lot of credit for coming back and doing well.
