R.I.P. Estelle Getty
:'(It is with great and horrid sadness, that I announce the passing of the dearly beloved actress, Estelle Getty. Many of you may know her best by her character on the 80's hot sitcom, "Golden Girls." She played the role of Sofia (the mother of Dorothy). She passed away early this morning at the age of 84.
May she rest in peace.

What? ^ Is that some ill attempt to be funny at a time like this? She died at the age of 84! Back in the 80's during her time as "Sofia" on the sitcom Golden Girls, she PLAYED as a old woman (a lot of makeup, etc). She was actually younger than the lady, Bea Arthur (Dorothy), who played as her daughter.

I liked that show, and enjoyed the character she played. She will be missed.

Re: R.I.P. Estelle Getty
I heard on the radio that she suffered from severe dementia the last few years of her life.
That's a sad thing.
May she RIP.
