    Call me confused...

I like your teaser bet except for Carolina and your ML bet besides NE,

My play is $50 on the Vikings -3.5
and then some crazy 5 team 6 pt teaser!

Like I said, Parlays are very tough, very nice payout but one upset and its a losing ticket!

Does anyone else gamble on sports?
If i were you man i would renegoiate the 3.5 points if possible, depending who you bet on and make them give you 4.5 points like i did. IF your betting in vegas or something, tough luck. I still wonder why i even took 4.5 when i think we should win by at least 10 points.
    I'm confused, Hawaiian.....

What team did you bet on, the Vikings or the Saints? If you bet on the Saints, then getting +4.5 makes sense. If you took the Vikings at -4.5, you just made it tougher for yourself to win.

    Purplepat's Wagers for Week 6

OK, I'm wussing out. My bets are looking pretty damn good right now, but I'd just DIE if the Saints somehow manage to beat the Vikings by more than 3 points (making both of my bets losers). So, with most of the games in the bag, I'm making some additional late wagers to hedge my bets and guarantee a respectable profit for the week (especially after all the money I threw away on college games this week).

I've just bet a $20 parlay on the money line for the Saints and Bucs to win. If that hits, it will return (bet plus profit) a total of $156.40. I could still win another $90 if the Vikings lose by less than 4 pts.

I've also bet a $40 parlay on the money line for the Saints and Rams to win. If that hits, it will return $144.00, plus another $90 if the Vikes lose by less than 4.

So if the Vikings lose by 4 or more, I'll have wagered $90 and win at least $144, for at least a $54 profit. If the Vikings lose but by 3 or less, I'll profit by at least $144.

Now, if the Vikings win, I'll immediately bet $60 on the Bucs money line. Now my total wager will be up to $150, but my total return will be $282 if the Bucs win, and $291 if the Rams win. That locks in a profit of either $132 or $141. So I'm giving up the opportunity to profit by up to $261 by making hedge bets to guarantee that I profit somewhere between $54 and $156. If either game ends in a tie, that could really screw things up, but I should still profit any way you swing it.

    Purplepat's Wagers for Week 6

    I never hedge my bets,

dang Chargers and CArolina not making it closer cost me a huge payout, however thanks to the Vikes, I am up about $250 this weekend without any action on MOnday night....yet!

    Purplepat's Wagers for Week 6

OK, I decided to hedge tonight's game a little differently. I've bet $40 on TB +6, and $30 on the TB money line. I'm risking getting a little less if the Bucs win outright or the Rams win by more than 6, but increasing my payout if the Rams win by between 1 and 6 pts.

With the Saints losing last night and the hedge bets made today, I'll profit somewhere between $112 and $207 on the wagers posted here. If Tampa wins outright, I'll only be up about $33 for the week because of all the losing college plays I made, plus a few stupid parlays yesterday involving the damn Chiefs to cover 2.5.

Now, my sportsbook has the contest where you can double your winnings on Monday night if you can guess the correct answers to a couple of multiple choice questions. My answers to the questions I chose tonight are that the game will be tied at the half, and Marc Bulger will throw for less than 240 yards. If I guess both of those correctly, my profit for the wagers listed here will jump to somewhere between $204 and $425.

So all my friends, please root for the Rams to win by less than 6, with the score tied at the half, and Bulger throwing for less than 240 yards!

Purplepat- not that we are best "friends" or anything, but I can't root for that to happen, since I put $100 on the RAms -6.5,

I am thinking the Bucs suck and the Rams are at home in a dome.
    Best of luck to ya!

Good luck to you as well! While the Bucs do suck this year, they've kept every game close, except at Oakland where they lost by 10. Meanwhile, the Rams barely eked out a win at home on opening day vs. Arizona, and then lost in overtime at home to the Saints. I think the Rams will (certainly should) win, but I expect the Bucs D to play tough and keep the score down. Oakland gained 226 yards through the air against the Bucs, but the best any of their other four opponents could muster was 138, and that includes Seattle, Denver and New Orleans. The Bucs also won in a dome last week, beating the Saints.

Congrats on your win last night, doubledown! I'm sure that last drive had you sweating a little bit!

Bulger's last completion of the night around the 5 minute mark put him over 240 passing yards, which wound up costing me $191 in lost profit! Oh well, at least I have the satisfaction of knowing my two wagers posted at the start of this thread came in perfectly! Maybe if I can lay off the college games and hedge bets, I can make a little more money!
