(WCCO) Bulldozers are already clearing the land for a new Minnesota Twins ballpark in downtown Minneapolis. And even as construction moves forward, there's hot debate over the purchase price for the land where the ballpark is located. The sellers and the buyer are $48 million apart on that price.......

??? Shouldn't the selling price have already been established a long time ago?
How can they actually begin bulldozing before they even own it?
Is there no signed contract of sale?

WHAT????
So construction has begun and the deal isn't done? I would say it's done. The buyers met the sellers price obviously. The sellers and the buyer are $48 million apart on that price.......

I did not know that...is that enough room for a stadium and parking lot?It was learned just Monday that the Vikings ownership paid $45 million for land where the Star Tribune now sits. Putting a final value on the Twins site will require several more days of court testimony.[
Crusty Pohlad can afford to chip in and pay the remaining cost of the land.

Sounds to me that after seeing what Wilf paid for the parking lots from the Trib, the Rapid Park owner feels slighted & now wants to up the cost.

The property owners just want to get fair market value. Taxpayers, your beef is with Hennepin County.

It is one thing to be whipping boys for a serious miscalculation by Hennepin County officials, but the injury cuts deeper when a newspaper editorial legitimizes the flogging....

most importantly, the stadium is being built, and the twins will never be leaving..i could care less about some schmo getting f'd over on the sale of his useless land..it shouldnt even be news..just let the guy have his land stolen away behind closed doors..i know that twins fans arent going to give a damn, as long as the thing gets built
People who see life as anything more than pure entertainment are missing the point.

I wouldn't say the land was useless. It was the parking lot behind the Target Center known as Rapid Park where PP.O & many others used to tailgate before the Vikings games.most importantly, the stadium is being built, and the twins will never be leaving..i could care less about some schmo getting f'd over on the sale of his useless land..it shouldnt even be news..just let the guy have his land stolen away behind closed doors..i know that twins fans arent going to give a damn, as long as the thing gets built
I'm sure it was used quite often for events at the Target Center as well.
Was it worth $65 million? I don't think so.
