Proposal for porn domain rejected
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/6509885.stm
Honestly, I agree with this.Proposal for porn domain rejected
The Icann board rejected the proposal nine votes to five
Plans to create an internet domain specifically for pornographic websites have been rejected.
The proposal for the .xxx domain was voted out by the overseer of the net's addressing system, seven years after the ideas was first put forward.
Board members said they were concerned that approval would put the agency into the position of a content regulator.
Backers of the .xxx domain said they were disappointed by the decision and would pursue the matter further.
It is the third time that the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (Icann) has rejected the bid.
The .XXX smacks of censorship, to me.

So - you think a bunch of internet domain yahoos are in the position to decide what is porn and what is not? After hearing about all the kiddie porn rings I dont know if this woulda been such a bad thing.
As to kiddie porn, those scumbags don't sign up on websites to get their kicks.
That stuff is exchanged underground in secret forums or chat rooms where they lurk and quietly build their collections.
The .xxx domain would not have changed one thing about that.

Actually the internet is a strange thing in regards to who has rights to impose what laws.
I'm torn.
I can see both sides of the argument on this one.If you promise to be smarter, I will promise to be nicer.
My posts are worth 6 of yours.
