WRONG!!! As x->âËâ€*ž, 1/x->0. On the interval (1, âËâ€*ž) 0 < 1/x < 1. Because x->0 and 1/x <= 1 on that interval, the area of any finite integral of 1/x is always less than zero (think about it, then check it out on your calculator). To put it another way, what's zero times infinity? There are an infinite number of answers, all of which are finite numbers. You always need to go with the highest possible number, which, in this case, is one.

0 multiplied by any number is 0, wouldn't that make 0 x âËâ€*ž= 0?

The textbook that my calculus class used contained examples of imperfect integrals using graphs as visual aids. Therefore, the calculus textbook that my class used is worthless.
