potus goes a bit too fast on his way home from church
well.. i got my first speeding ticket. it's been one year and some change since i got my license, so that's not too bad, considereing as how most kids get one in their first year.
i could tell the story, but all the stories are the same. i will admit i was speeding (i'm sure if i was really going 48 in a 30.. 40-43 sounds more realistic, esp on teh road i was on.. anyways). the only thing i want to know, is how he got me speed, caus he was in the middle of the road, and waved me over, no radar gun in hand or anything. if he did have a partner, i didnt see him..
but the punishment sucks:
-no driving at all for two weeks
-no madden for a month
-i have to get a job to pay off the ticket(which will be fun to manage with 4 our of five days after school dedicated to band rehearsals).
needless to say, i had a crappy labor day.. not able to go anywhere, stuck in the house

Tough punishment, but kudos to your parents for the discipline. You'll appreciate & understand it some day.

I just got my license like 2 weeks ago, and don't plan on getting a ticket until I move out, I get enough from my dad for how much insurance is, and if I get a ticket, you may not see me for a while :P
Edit: The speedometer in my 1990 Honda Accord(aka Sweetness) is broken, so I can't really ever tell how fast Im going, so maybe I will get a ticket, but atleast I have an excuse.

It could be worse....
I've receieved 5 speeding tickets in the last 18 months!
My parents never disciplined me for my first speeding ticket....
Possibly because I never told them, and they found out many months later.
Now I wish I would have come clean with them and been punished!
Not sure if it would have helped me later in life or not, but it couldn't have hurt any.
I don't know, it sucks though.
The saddest part of my whole deal is I receieved these five tickets AFTER I realized it's not worth it to speed.
Every ticket I've got has been when I thought I was in a different speed zone.
They have also almost all been while I was working in a part of the state or country that I'm not familiar with.
I can't wait until my insurance company catches on to this.
