Joey Porter’s abs acting like the Steelers are still in playoff contention

Although the defending Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers are 6-7 and all but eliminated from the postseason, the abs of linebacker Joey Porter are still going about their business as though every game is for Pittsburgh’s playoff life.

“Ever since we started the season 2-6 things have looked pretty bleak,” said Porter. “But to the credit of my abs, they still show themselves before each game at midfield, proud as can be, and challenge opponents to take them on. A lot of other players’ abs would have long ago hidden behind their jersey, especially in this cold weather, but not my abs. They’ll fight right to the end.”

Pittsburgh’s upcoming opponents say Porter’s abs are proof that the Steelers can not be overlooked as the season winds down.

“The Steelers have very little to play for right now,” said Ravens quarterback Steve McNair. “But there’s no way they’re going to just play out the string if Joey Porter’s abs have any say. The last thing his teammates want is for him to turn the attention of his abs away from the opponent and towards them, as his abs destroy all those who dare gaze into their deep crevices.”
