Apparently other publications weren't reading Jalopnik in February when we broke the news Pontiac would either die, or become some sorta zombie. Whichever it is, we've decided to run our eulogy, in its entirety, again...

Re: Pontiac Is Dead... Again
GM should have scrapped their lame ass Chevy line of cars and kept Pontiac.
(coming from the guy who has 3 Pontiac cars parked at home
;D)
I've always preferred Pontiac to Chevy though (Corvettes excluded).
Chevy's cars are so boring and unappealing to me (same with Ford).
I got stuck with an Impala while our Grand Prix was in the shop.
Practically fell asleep driving into work everyday.
Quality is probably the same, price is similar, but Pontiac adds that driving excitement at a low budget price.
The new G8's are awesome.
To each his own I suppose.

Three reasons they went out of business, that I just made up on the spot.
1. The Sunfire
2. The Solstice
3. The idiots who decided the Sunfire and Solstice should be mass produced.

Buick has a solid market in old people who want luxury but are too cheap to buy a Cadillac. They can also sell cars for more than $10 000.Why are they dumping Pontiac but keeping Buick?

Re: Pontiac Is Dead... Again
GM lost 84.7 million dollars every day last year.
Maybe we tax payers should bail out a company working under that futility... :bigeyeroll
