Phrases you thought had different meanings as a kid

Anyone remember as kid hearing a phrase and you thought it had a different meaning then what it actually meant?
For me, and go ahead laugh, it was "Red Shirt Freshman" which i litterally thought meant the freshman had to wear a red shirt.
Anyone else want to admit to their misinterrpretations?

    J/K ;D

I thought 'free' was 'three' for the longest time.
Caused many confusing moments as a youngster.
I still remember the day I figured it out.
    Twas like an epiphany.
I was just standing there in my room by myself, and out of the blue it just hit me.

My grandma used to always say that.
It wasn't until many years later that it kindof turned into a family joke amongst the grandchildren as we got older.

    As a kid, G A Y always meant "happy."

    Is
your friend Jill taking care of you this evening?

Now, hold out your right hand, spread your fingers out wide, and see "Jill" in your hand... your fingers will spell it out.
