    Re:Permanent Viking Fans

I have a photo of me at 10 - 11 years old, where I'm wearing a Vikings letterman-style jacket (purple body w/ gold sleeves). At that time, the logo and team name were what made me like them, because of my Scandinavian heritage.

Admittedly, I wasn't really watching the games then, as I found cartoons somewhat more entertaining...but I always wanted them to win, because they were VIKINGS!

Around and about the late 80's/early 90's, I started asking my Dad how they were doing on gameday, and even watching a game every now and again. 1998 was when I made the transition from fan to FANATIC. 12 years later...well, I'm 38 now, and I've watched every single game that my work schedule would allow me to.

That '98 season was pretty special. It's great to see so many fans who came on board that year still here. There is always a concern about the bandwagon fans who disappear once things get bad so, Skol to all of us Purple and Gold fanatics.

Awesome find, IBP!!!! My thoughts after watching that:

    * What a great hook and ladder play on the first down after the punt. Awesome to see Ted Brown streaking down the sideline and then getting out of bounds.

    * As noted, an incredibly lucky bounce off of the Browns' DBs' hands and into Rashad's.

    * Are both teams on the same sideline? Sure looks like it.

    * LOL - the XP was blocked after they dragged 11 Browns back onto the field. Surprising that no delay penalty was called on the Vikings.

    * Kramer was 38-49 for 456 yards and 2 TDs in that game.

    * The Vikings were down 13-0 at the half.

    * Awesome to hear the late great Charlie Jones on the call. I think that was Len Dawson with the color commentary.

    * Loved seeing Matt Blair running off the field with his arm around Bud.

    =Z=

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!

I have not been a fan that long but I can say that I probably have been to more games than most fans of 20-40 years. I started going to games in 2004 and have made most since then. I think I started watching the Vikings in 1998. I owe that all to Randy Moss.
How many of those games have you left early?
