I always grew up watching the games, but I had to be about 5-7 when the Vikings came to my hometown and I had a chance to meet Joey Browner, Scott Studwell, and a few others.

I still have a hand-outline of Browner's.... guy had freaking monsterishly large hands.

You have a different perspective of course as I have never been to Vikings game. What is your single most memorable recollection of the 40 years?

I'm only at 34 years, but I have a couple:
(these are all "witnessed on TV")
* Tommy Kramer's pass to Rashad in the end zone to beat the Browns in 1980.
* Darrin Nelson dropping the pass at the goal line to lose the NFC Championship to the Skins.
* Moss's 3 50+ TDs to whip the Cowboys on Thanksgiving.

And in person, I've got
* '98 - Vikes over Ravens
* 296 by AD
* Favre's toss to Lewis this season

=Z=

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!

as opposed to the coach that Denny should have sent packing long before his time .. namely
Richard Solomon. if ever there was an icon for ensuring that coaches at least know their arse from their elbow then Solly was the ideal candidate.

After awhile I had to admit that Denny was right and I eventually forgave him for trading away my favorite player of all time.

In the end, I now don't have favorite players.
I just focus on the team.

You know my stance on Cook.
And did you see Tahi's block on the second or third play?
How about his catch?
LOL.

......snicker.......

Just cause I stick up for em, doesn't mean they are my favorite players.
I will hack on them just as fast as I will anyone else.

Some good ones there...my brother and I were planning to come to a game this year, but plans fell through. We were looking at the 49'ers game, would have been a pretty good choice.

Re: Permanent Viking Fans

I'm older than the Vikings.

I watched a team that had Paul Hornung and Bart Star for a couple of years. Then I heard a team was coming to Minnesota.

I jumped on board and am happily still here.

There are a few of us day 1' ers patiently waiting for the championship.
The journey has been fun, more often than not.
Recon I'll stick around a little longer.
