Lol I use to be a hardcore rams fan until madden 2005 when I played with the vikings n discovered moss culpepper and Bennett. They where so good n fast I decided to watch them on tv n fell n love. I went to both redskins games the Vikings played at fed ex field, and fell in love more. Now I'm an even more hardcore Vikings fan and will be forever. And no madden will not make me get a new team, it just opened my eyes to the purple power

I'm only 22, so I haven't been alive for too long to watch the Vikes.
But I started watching them in 98, started to actually understand football and get into the Vikes in '03 or so.
So I'm new.
Born and raised in Minnesota though, surrounded by Viking fans my whole life.
That accounts for something, right?

Since 1973. I hated the Cowboys even though I was only 8 years old.
Watching the Vikings whip the Boys in the NFC Championship game(73) made me a fan.I started collecting all the Viking football cards(It was easy to trade a Staubach for a Stu Voight etc)etc. It became a passion!
I became so crazed about the Vikings that my family thought I had flipped.
For my 10th birthday my mom got me a autographed picture from Fran Tarkenton. That was the final straw.
Been on the Viking ship every day since.

Re: Permanent Viking Fans

I can do this Packers-style, right?

A distant friend of mine sent me NFL street. I didn’t have the slightest clue what I was doing, but it was somewhat interesting. It kind off faded away after that again.

Quite a while later though, I was watching TV. Football usually does not get any broadcasting time here at all. For some reason though, a Dutch channel bought the broadcasting rights to the Seahawks – Steelers Super Bowl. I think it was mainly to hype the Amsterdam Admirals a bit. Anyway, it aired in the middle of the night here, so I was ‘lucky’ than I couldn’t sleep. I watched the game, still not understanding a whole lot about it, but it was better than the 200 erotic adds. It sparked my interest in football.

Again, quite a while later, I was looking for a new game for my PS2. I saw ESPN NFL 2K5 for just 20 euro’s at the local gameshop. Remembering NFL street and the SB, I bought the game and started playing. I learned a lot about the game of football while playing. I started to take a liking to the Packers uniforms and the fact that they had a great QB (Favre), WR (Driver) and RB (Green) while not being a totally dominant team.

Now at that time, I wasn't really a fan. I liked to play the game, but didn't join any forums, didn't watch any games.

About a year ago, though, I jumped on some internet streams and joined PackersHome.com. I didn't know diddly squat about the game, but the guys over there really helped me. Hooked to football all the way now. It's a sick addiction, by now, actually. Lol.

Went a little overboard, but hey, who cares.

Since the first Super Bowl season, so what is that...41 years?

I've lived in New York all my life, no homer here.

Re: Permanent Viking Fans

I always grew up watching the games, but I had to be about 5-7 when the Vikings came to my hometown and I had a chance to meet Joey Browner, Scott Studwell, and a few others.
Since then, the only color I've known was Purple.

I still have a hand-outline of Browner's.... guy had freaking monsterishly large hands.

Trust me, I'm a doctor.
