Paul Newman dead at 83

Legendary actor Paul Newman dies at age 83

Saturday September 27 9:16 AM ET

Paul Newman, the Academy-Award winning superstar who personified cool as an activist, race car driver, popcorn impresario and the anti-hero of such films as "Hud," "Cool Hand Luke" and "The Color of Money," has died. He was 83.

Newman died Friday after a long battle with cancer at his farmhouse near Westport, publicist Jeff Sanderson said. He was surrounded by his family and close friends.

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Sorry about that, Paul was my favorite actor in film history. This is a huge loss not only to the art of film making but the wider world as well.

Rest In Peace, Paul. You were one of the greatest.

Slap Shot is one of my favorites too...the Hanson Bros.

Some of his great movies were "Cool Hand Luke", "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid", "The Sting" and "The Verdict"...all highly recommended (you can also check with Shock and GG).

He was so much more than just an actor. He was a humanitarian on a grand scale. He and his friend A.E. Hotchner started the "Newman's Own" food product line, and to date they have donated $250,000,000 to charities worldwide. They set up camps so that terminally-ill kids could experience some of the joys of life. Newman's Own

I just read this book, which was very entertaining. He never took himself too seriously, and was a very funny guy. The testimonials from customers were the best part for me.
