Re: Panic in Boston
Call a spade a spade I guess.
Yes, there are better ways to advertise and yes, the folks in authority had to check it out.
But, it wouldn't take a genius to debunk this whole 'terror attack' in a matter of less than an hour.
They wanted media attention and they got global attention at a minimal cost.
The penalty would have to be severe if they don't want copycat incidents for global advertising at a minimal cost.Get your facts first, and then you can distort them as much as you please. Mark Twain

Cartoon Network boss quits over bomb scare
Jim Samples is taking the fall for the marketing debacle at Turner Broadcasting
That sucks for him, because the odds of him actually having intimate knowledge of this marketing campaign is pretty slim.I deeply regret the negative publicity and expense caused to our company as a result of this campaign. As general manager of Cartoon Network, I feel compelled to step down, effective immediately, in recognition of the gravity of the situation that occurred under my watch.Zeus wrote:

yeah what a bunch of babies. i mean, all they did was essentially shut down a major metropolitan area and force hundreds of thousands of dollars to be wasted on police, anti-terrorism units, SWAT teams, etc. not to mention the fact that mentally/emotionally thousands of people at least temporarily thought that their city was the center of a terrorist plot. cmon. big deal. suck it up...No wonder there's a panic, what a terrifying picture.

Bunch of pansy dimply buttocks.
Who is stupider?
The people that panic without investigation over the advertisement of a cartoon or the people that chose that method of advertisement.
I tend to go with the side of genius in marketing being more intelligent than the spineless that panic without a superficial investigation that would easily reveal the source.
No wonder they keep calling us "stupid Americans"!
BANNED OR DEAD...I'LL TAKE EITHER ONE
