How do you stop religious extremists who aren't afraid to die?
Suicide bombers...

Our boys and girls are doing a great job keeping them occupied overseas but eventually, my worst fears will probably be realized and they will stike us again.
Lets hope that the world changes at somepoint were the guys just go away.
I for one don't believe they will ever be gone.
Very sad indeed.
Makes a man want to move up into the Wilderness just to get away from it all. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

That'll keep'em busy!

Seriously, regardless of your politics the current administration has done a good job of protecting the home front since 9/11.
Our only options are this:
1.
Identify and contain the extremists
2.
Hunt them down and neutralize them... worldwide
3.
And most importantly, stop the brainwashing of the young boys in the radical madras' and educate the youth on the concept of peaceful coexistance and tolerance.
This is a generational task that will take 10-20 years.
In the mean time, see #1 and 2.
My two cents..."All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing."

Re: Pakistani opposition leader Bhutto assassinated
This is very bad.
:-\
Bhutto was the most prominent figure in what could have been some kind of tempering movement against extremists in Pakistan. Conspiracy theories will be flying around Pakistan for many years to come (well, not that that's unusual in this part of the world) about who was involved in the assissination. I predict it will be somewhat destabilizing, and may end up bringing out more extremist elements. Very bad.
Pakistan needs the world's support right now.
