If you can, find out the name and birthday of the kid in question.
Contact the Texas dept of state and health services if the kid was born in texas.
http://www.dshs.state.tx.us/VS/reqproc/certified_copy.shtm
If you are listed as the father on the birth certificate, you can request a copy even just through the online service.
Either way, if you contact that dept, they should be able to tell you if you were listed as a father on a birth certificate.
