Oktoberfest in La Crosse, Wi
Is anyone planning on going to Oktoberfest in La Crosse, WI it starts on Oct 1st I believe, it's an awesome time, beer is super cheap, they play music from the 80's, granted i was born in the 80's so it's old school for me!
But anyway, there's a group there called the brat pack radio just a lotta drunken fun, tickets are even super cheap to get in!
People fly in from Europe for this event, dressed in their crazy outfits (think yoddlers, or guy from Prices Right climbing up the mountain and if you bid too high he falls off), which might be normal wear for them!

Did you ever play the Hammer in the nail game w/ the paper thin hammer head trying to hit the nail into the stump in one hit?
Re: Oktoberfest in La Crosse, Wi
didnt get a hotel in time this year, I will be back to lacrosse soon but not then.
I dont think there is a better town to go to bars to then lacrosse.
Re: Oktoberfest in La Crosse, Wi
I've been there once when I was in college at Winona St. but I was enamored with it so I didn't go back. I guess the having to drive back to Winona while drunk just wasn't worth it for me. I will be going to WSU for homecoming though on the 6th of October, can't wait for that!

Not gonna make it out this year, but...
On a related note, we just got the Summit Oktoberfest seasonal brew in at work, and I have to say its pretty delicious...

Who needs a hotel when you live 30 miles away?
;D
And to go with all the bars, there are women a plenty, since there are several colleges in the area.
It's a hot time, that I can assure you.
Re: Oktoberfest in La Crosse, Wi
I used to go when they allowed "beer throwing".
You could throw a beer at a Cheesedick & get away with it.
But now there is a city-wide ordinance outlawing it.
