Hey, ditch the crate dude. My wifes friend at work suggested the crate when we got our Shi Zu Maggie. It was terrible. It really messed up house breaking her. I kept telling my wife to rub her nose it and throw her ass outside, we had several dogs growing up and it work for all of them. Her friend tells her thats cruel. Shit, it works and I dont have to worry about stepping on landmines when she out of the crate. Never did break her of the whinning though, must be a packer fan.LOL Little shit sleeps with us and when she has to do her thing , she stands up and shakes and wakes my ass up. Good luck! ps my wifes friend, the one with the suggestions, has a yorkie and it had three puppies. one died early and her husband dropped one and killed it. I bet he's in the "Dog House", poor sob.

Have you ever seen a race of turtles, and they all go the wrong way instead of towards the finish line?

It is actually quite easy. Follow these simple steps:

    1) Talk encouragingly to the dog as if it were a member of the family.

    2) Tuck it in at night lovingly.

    3) Play with it regularly.

    4) One day, when you "finance" is out of town, comb the pet stores for a breed that looks just like the new dog.

    5) Find the one that is the calmest. Neuter it and spay it. Take it to "Crash Course Obedience School"

    6) Before your finance gets home, replace the dog with the nice one.

    7) When she gets back, tell her you were able to train it perfectly. She'll think you're a hero.

    8) Don't let her see the shovel.

Being a fellow Yorkie owner, the first couple weeks were tough with Taz (Mostly because he was abandoned and he wasn't trusting my family and me). If the dog barks alot, a shock collar is an option (It works so well with him that if I show it, he shuts up!), and make sure you love Chopper like your own child.

Exactly!! All I have to do for my dog is show him the remote and he tames down. If I'm across the house I just give him a beep, as a warning, and he shuts up. Same thing when he's in his kennel at night... if he starts barking for no reason I just beep him and I don't hear another peep out of him for the rest of the night. It's the best investment I've ever made. It's a must for any terrior, imo (they're so spastic).
