Highlighted some very good points you just made. The first bad to ever be called Emo was Sunny Day Real Estate, but I don't think their too bad (at least their first album, Diary) but all other emo can be buried at the bottom of the sea for all I care.

I want to mention John McLaughlin as one of my favorite guitarists... but I think that will have to wait for the Jazz/Fusion thread... soon to come.

You're right sorry. Rock has been extinct for 30 years, and apparently it hardly existed at the time.

Yeah Emo is really ruining what used to be mainstream rock. Some of my favorite bands are starting to lean in the emo direction as well... That's when I start liking them less and less.

But then again, can any of you give me a definition of emo that doesn't involve a joke about girl jeans, bad haircuts, and suicide?
becuase that isn't want emo is about, just like shooting people and selling crack isn't what hip-hop and rap are about.


Lamb of God is absolutely horrible.
One of the worst metal bands out there.
Whoever said LOG should listen to Killswitch Engage, Between The Buried and Me, The Black Dhalia Murder and August Burns Red.

You're right emo isn't about make-up, bad haircuts and girls clothes. It's the emo kids who do these things and listen to emo music. So we associate them with the music they listen to. And make fun of it all. Not just the individuals, cause thats mean.
