Re:Official Madden 11 thread
I will have to buy it I suppose I have all of them except for 2007 which was phoned in it had so many bugs. I like looking at all the xbox madden boxes.
Anyone know who's on the cover (not a madden curse thing just intersted)
Any of you guys play xbox live with Madden? I wouldn't mind having a game or two probably get creamed but would be fun anyway

Re:Official Madden 11 thread
I'll be buying it for the PS3 I'm sure. My modded 360 would get banned on live in a heartbeat.

I was worried about this. Anyone know of any specific changes from 2010?I probably won't get this game because there is not enough changes between it an 2010. Unless I can get it for cheap with the si.com tv deal again, I live in 2010 for another year.
Previously, they'd run routes OB and have no awareness of the sideline. Now back of the EZ, Sideline and fade routes actually work. Download the NCAA11 demo, they use the same game engine.
Also, run blocking is supposed to improve.

Thanks for that info. I'm sure I will still get it, as I have them all since like 01 as well.

Re:Official Madden 11 thread
no problem.
The problem with Madden, I think is not so much a lack of competition to push them. Its XBOX360 handcuffing them.
IMO, Madden 2004-2008 for PS2 were the best games, hands down. PS2 had in-depth superstar mode, in-depth franchise, in-depth online play, more options, formation shifts, audiables, etc. More customization, it was just IMO much more fun. When they went to HD Graphics with the 360 and PS3, they needed more disc space for the graphics. However, 360 still only uses dual-layer DVDs, while PS3 uses blu-ray.
Dual-layer DVD's can only hold about 8 Gigs of data, where dual layer blu-ray can hold 50 gigs of data, single layer still gets 25 Gigs. That is why the next-gen versions have been so stripped.
They make a new game every year, so they're not going to make one for PS3 and one for 360. PS3 will get the same stripped down version that they make for the Xbox, because thats all they can fit on a disc.
If 360 had blu-ray discs, you can bet we'd see actual changes.
For those of you expecting loads of new features, unfortunately, as long as 360 is around, you won't see it.

Re:Official Madden 11 thread
Haha that's a load of bull.
There are three reasons we get the same Madden virtually every year.
1) No competition.
2) They make a new one every year, that is a short development time.
3) People will still buy it even with all the complaints.
There are games on the 360 that are more massive in scale than Madden. Mass Effect 2, for example, pushes the hardware much harder than Madden will ever even attempt to do. And Mass Effect 3 will have a leap of improvement Madden will never touch in its yearly iterations.
Madden has not maxed out the 360, not even close, so there is still plenty of room for improvement, the developers choose not to. Why spend the extra money for new features when they can just update rosters and stats, add a couple of new features once a year, update the cover and sit back watch the $$$$$ roll in?
Full disclosure: I own a PS3 and a 360. And owned a PS2 and an xbox. I'm a gamer."There is good and there is evil. And evil must be punished. Even in the face of Armageddon I will not compromise."
