    .....8) Minnesota - Last Championship: 1991.
On one hand, the good people in Minnesota still have the good old days of the Twins to cherish.
However, that's going on 16 years now since their last championship and the current version of the Twins seems like a team decent enough to make the playoffs but not win a World Series.
To make their life really miserable up there, you can look no further than the Minnesota Vikings: a team that made it to 4 Super Bowls and lost every one.
Not to mention the fact that the great teams of the late 90s blew their chances of getting to the Super Bowl twice: once against Atlanta, and once against the Giants.
Also, the Timberwolves are having problems rebuilding their team around Kevin Garnett and he could be as good as gone.
Not to mention, one of the most passionate hockey bases in America lost their old hockey team and have to remain patient as the Wild tries to establish enough consistency to compete for a Stanley Cup.
    (Overly Objective Rankings: passion - 4, weather - 5, length since last title - 2, close calls - 4).......

It's a tough job being a Minnesota fan but someone's got to do it! :-

If you can't handle pain you're rooting for the wrong team.

This is why it has been so hard to be a lifelong fan!
    Someday.
    Someday . . .

They forgot about our late 1980's team that almost made it to the Super Bowl . . . against all odds!

Re: The Official List of Sports' Suffering

I remember when I went to my first football game - It was Vikings vs San Diego down here in california and we ended up losing.
I was all decked out in vikings gear and I remember an old viking fan walked up to me and told me "welcome to a long, hard life of a vikings fan"
Thats when i realized what I had gotten into.
Now I realize that with this fresh start were getting, are chances of winning will get better and maybe these new guys will actually live up to their potential.

    - unlike some other guys I prefer not to name
