I hope it does last. Nice opportunity for some young talent that go undrafted and still want to make some coin playing ball. More football is good.

The AAFL will start stocking rosters after the NFL's April draft. Players, who'll be employed by the league, will earn about $100,000.
for a minor league ? is that about what you would make at the CFL level?
as long as their uniforms dont look like cartoons, im cool with it.

NFL | Former NCAA president unveils plans for new league
Thu, 27 Jul 2006 13:30:30 -0700
FOXSports.com reports former NCAA president Cedric Dempsey has unveiled plans in New York for a new spring minor football league, according to a report in USA Today. The eight teams will use colleges as their "bases" and feature players from those schools and their affiliated conferences and surrounding regions. Team will have 44 to 48 players and play their games in the schools' facilities or in bowl stadiums. Players must have graduated from college and exhausted their college eligibility. Dempsey, chairman of the All American Football League's managing board, said, "When you look at some of the minor leagues that failed, this is a different model. I think it'll have a lot of interest from a fan standpoint." The league will begin play in 2007 and each team will likely play a 14-game schedule from the second week of April through the end of June. Dempsey declined to say which schools would be affiliated, only that they will be tied to the Big Ten, Southeastern and Atlantic Coast conferences. The AAFL will start stocking roster after the NFL Draft and players will earn about $100,000. Affiliated schools will receive $3 million in stadium rent and would be permitted to keep revenue from parking and concessions.

Not a bad idea. Nice way to pass through some offseason. I'd probably watch if the programing is available in our market.
