But where are you going to move it??

Sure, you can say move the team 20 miles north, but what happens to the farmer that owns that land??

What happens to all the real estate people and everyone else who owns land in New Orleans??

I think there is no doubt that the city should be moved if you're considering the safety of the people in the city, but will it happen??

    I don't think so.

90% of the city was underwater, those houses are destroyed. For the ones who have flood insurance and for the rest who we will have to pay for, take the money and go somewhere else. Build a new life and home there.

From reports 1/2 of the residents say they are not going back.

With the part of the city that is on the hill, make a giant port for cargo and oil and make those more resistant to hurricanes.

This is a flood plan, you are under sea level. This is not a good place to have a city.

We rebuild for 250 Billion dollars, and 3 years from now a hurricane or terrorists attack breaches the levees and the city is underwater again, and billions and billions more are spent to rebuild again.

The government could say this is a matter of national security and force the city closed.

But nobody has the guts to stand up and say that this needs to stop.

Do not build in flood plans (not just along the coast) and if you do, then it is your business and you shoulder the burden of the cost.
What we've got here is failure to communicate.

The levees are giving way again, and New Orleans is flooding. The 9th street levee has breached in 3 places and the water is pouring into the streets of New Orleans again.

This is happening, and Rita is a long ways away!

This city can never be fully protected and at a projection of 250 Billion dollars to fix this city it should not be allowed to rebuild.

Re: New Orleans is flooding again.

So are we (actually you guys) saying that the city known as New Orleans will just be like a modern day ghost town? What would come of the "old" New Orleans? I'm just curious.

I get the most pissed off looks from people with my VKG 4 LFE Wisconsin license plate, and I LOVE IT!!
