    New House with a Pool

OK...my wife makes the money, and we just bought a new house with a pool, because her and the girls wanted one.

It is an inground pool, very nice, but I have heard they are hell to maintain.

Anyone here have a pool and if so can you tell me how hard it is to maintain.

By the way, I live in Fargo, ND, so I have a very short pool season.

Just hire a pool boy, no worries.

Sounds to me like you are doing just fine. I'm confident you will get the pool maintainence issue solved also.

They aren't difficult to maintain, just time consuming.
Every spring you have to shock the pool to get the levels in line after sitting all winter.
If you have a cover, use it when your not swimming, keeps the majority of bugs and leaves etc..from getting into the pool.
Another problem you will undoubtedly run into, the upkeep on the mechanicals...pump, filter..etc.
They need to be replaced if worn, but if you have time, and patience..the pool life should be easy after getting the hang of it...
