Nev. regulators warn of card-counting iPhone app

LAS VEGAS – Nevada gambling regulators have warned casinos about a card-counting program for Apple's iPhone and iPod Touch that can illegally help players beat the house in blackjack.

Card counting by players is not illegal in Nevada but using a device to count cards is considered a felony.

The Nevada Gaming Control Board warned casinos of the program last week.

Nevada learned of the program from California gambling regulators who said officials at an Indian casino found customers using it...............

I just watched 21 (its a movie about card counting in vegas) the other day. It really is not that hard to count cards if you can add one or subtract one.

It's not that easy. Though the movie is based on a true story, all of those kids were MIT math wizzes. Also they had to use a whole team at a time for it to be effective. If it were easy, or even feasible for the average person to do then Vegas would be bankrupt.

Well to go to the extremes of the movie is hard, but by yourself you can still use it to help a bit. The hardest part is being able to count as fast as is necessary in the casino.
