Need help getting a song into a powerpoint presentation

I have a photography presentation March 4th and for it I want to put music with some of my pictures.
I have very little experience with powerpoint and I haven't really tried it yet.
The problem is that I need to put a portion of the song in the slide.
I have the song files on my computer.
Does anyone know who to do this?

    Thanks!

thanks, but the problem is I only need a portion of the song, not the entire thing.
It appears you can do it with a cd, but I cannot use a cd for the presentation.
so, is there a way to just play some of the song?
perhaps I can convert the file so the file is just the portion of the song.

if you have any type of audio editing software you can cut the clip you need and save it as its own file and then import it to powerpoint.
A program I have used that is free is WavePad.

It comes with a bunch of other programs too, its a bundle, most of which you won't need, so when installing make sure to deselect the other programs.
