    NBA Lottery

    How can this be fair???

Minnesota has a 5% chance of getting the number one pick in the NBA draft.

Why not just let the worst team Pick first?

Both MN and Boston have the same chance = 5.3%

That being said, all 14 teams that could win the lottery would love to have the option. Portland stands the best chance, with 25 percent of the Ping-Pong balls in the hopper. Chicago is next with 19.9 percent, followed by Charlotte (13.8), Atlanta (13.7), Toronto (8.8), Minnesota (5.3), Boston (5.3), Houston (2.3), Golden State (2.2), Seattle (1.1), Orlando (0.8), New Orleans (0.7), Philadelphia (0.6) and Utah (0.5).
Interestingly, only three times since 1990 has the team with the best chance won the lottery. Last year the Bucks claimed the prize, despite having only the sixth-best chance.

With so little certainty at the top, this year's No. 1 pick could turn out to be trade bait. The Bulls and the Warriors, for example, are said to be interested in Kevin Garnett and Jermaine O'Neal if, in fact, Minnesota or Indiana decides to rebuild for the future. The top pick could make for a nice sweetener in any such offer.

BAH! 7th pick...oh well...I hope they actually pick someone good this year. Their draft picks have SUCKED ever since they picked Pierce. Joe Johnson was a good pick, but they traded him away. Kedrick Brown was not a good pick, neither was Joe Forte. It seems like Gerald Green might work out well and Delonte West looked pretty good too. As far as finding a superstar though, they've come up pretty short!

Its difficult to find a superstar (obviously unless Lebron, Howard, etc lead the class) in the draft and teams usually have to draft a player w/ a lot on potential and watch him develop into a star (i.e. McGrady, Nowitski, J. O'Neal, etc, etc). That being said I think the Celts have drafted extremely wll in the past couple drafts. Delonte has all the makings to be a solid SG. Gerald Green showed signs of greatness at the end of the year. Ryan Gomes had a very nice rookie year and for Perk and Al Jefferson the sky's the limit. Wait three years and tell me the Celts didn't draft any superstars.

How do ya like them apples?!

b/c then you have teams intentiionally losing games when a player like LeBron comes around. At least nothing is guaranteed this way. I like it.
