Nascar topic... for Nascar fans... no "left turn"comments needed
I know most of you aren't fans, but for the ones that are... Daytona is in just under 2 weeks!!
Our new 50" HD tv will be delivered the day before!
I'm very excited for a new season of racing.
My boy did horrible last year in his first year at Rausch Racing.
So hopefully he does better this year!

Re: Almost time for Nascar!!
I'm glad you're excited....but if you were getting the new screen why wouldn't you get if for the SB or during the football season?
The defective models are sold right before the kickoff of NASCAR.Get your facts first, and then you can distort them as much as you please. Mark Twain

I called into KFAN's racing show this past weekend and that got my blood going.
I'm excited to see how Juan Pablo Montoya holds up once they start heading to places like Martinsville and Bristol.

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!

Re: Almost time for Nascar!!
First I hate NASCAR, I tried getting into it once, but that is along story. Anyways what is the differnce between The Winston Cup and Busch series?

Re: Almost time for Nascar!!
I am looking forward to it too!
NASCAR is a great offseason sport for me!
BTW Big Daddy, the Winston Cup was renamed Nextel Cup a few years ago when the sponsor changed... but the basic difference between the two series is the setup on the cars.
The big one is the carburetor difference (Busch uses a smaller one, which makes for less horse power).
There are other difference too, like wheel base and minimum weight.
What it really comes down to is the cars are set up differently and perform differently.
Nextel is generally a faster, but more difficult, set up than Busch.
Drivers can race in either or both, and since the Busch race tends to be on the same track that the Nextel race will be held the next day, any Nextel Drivers use it as a chance to get used to the track.
Also, there is a lot more money in Nextel.
The sponsor sizes, and the purses, are a lot bigger, so it attracts the best drivers.Zeus wrote:
When are you going to realize that picking out the 20 bad throws this year and ignoring the 300 good ones does not make your point?

Re: Almost time for Nascar!!
Im interested to see how the toyotas do in NASCAR this year.
Im not a fan of toyota but I hope Michael Waltrip can do well with his teams.
He as put alot of time and money into it and I would hate to see him fail like most driver/owners, I like him and hope he does well with it.
Also anybody want to share their favorite and least favorite drivers.
Mine are
Favorite:
Dale Jr.
Least Favorite:
Jeff Gordon

My boyfriend is a HUGE Gordon fan though.
We were at Chicagoland last year when Gordon won by taking out Kenseth.
I'm a McMurray fan myself.

Re: Almost time for Nascar!!
I tried watching nascar a couple of times, never could get interested. I always loved watching the rally races and seeing them take turns at like 90 with a cliff a foot away.
Wait, if there's cat food in this bag............................
I HAVE TO CHECK ON JOLLY!!!!
