Am I the only Nascar fan here?? I never used to like it, but in the last couple weeks, I've picked a driver and watched part of the races...

#42-Jamie McMurray... just finished 4th today... not too shabby!!

well i used to be a big fan. go figure.
#3 is the man!!!!
been to a couple of races.
the michigan infield was a blast.
go to a race!!! esp if you like to drink. lol
get drunk in the hot sun!!!
i have not been such a big fan since dale crashed and my little nascar friend moved away. damm her.
we were both dale fans. she cries everytime we talk about him.

I'm wondering what the appeal is? All they do is go in circles for hours, I mean throw a right turn in there every once in a while :P.

:lol: I used to think the same thing but there is actually a lil more strategy behind it then that. I can't claim to understand it very well yet, but I will!! Gives me something to look forward to on Sundays until football season starts again though

I think the appeal of NASCAR isn't the sport itself, it's that many of the fans can relate to the drivers. I once heard it billed as the "working man's sport". Every NASCAR fan I know says that they like it mostly b/c they can relate to the drivers (ex.-how Dale Earndhart started his life in poverty and got out of it by racing).
