my back is killing me

You should always use ice first. This will help reduce swelling which is a possible cause of the discomfort. If it provides relief, continue. The problem with heat is that if the condition is due to swelling, it could make it worse an hour later (increased circulation=increased swelling).
Ice the area for 15-20 minutes then take it off for 30 minutes. Do this as many times as possible throughout the day. Also try to walk as much as possible. Weight bearing exercise will help remove swelling from the joint/disk. When you sit or lie down, swelling will increase.

My back went out last monday, it's alsmost back to normal but I could use a little more help. :wink:
