Thread: The Movie Cars for my peeps in Minnesota

This is for my Peeps in Minnesota or from Minnesota.


The movie cars that is done by Disney gives props to a city in the Twin Cities.



Has anybody seen this movie?


Has anybody noticed that there is a seen in the movie when the lead car (Lightning) meets two other cars in the desert.
The one lady says that they got lost one time while traveling to Shakopee for crazy days.
(Crazy days is a festival but I thought it was in Shakopee but the article says no).
Has anybody seen that? I had to make sure thats what they said.
Its funny because the lady car has a huge Minnesotan Norweigen accent.... LOL....

Cars is one of my son's favorite movies (and I actually like it too ).

I didn't know what Crazy Days was, but I caught the reference to Shakopee.

I don't know what Crazy Days in Shakapee is, but Shock would know.

They used to have Crazy Days in Winona, MN. It lasted a few days & it was when all the downtown merchants sold items from their store outside on the sidewalk at big discounts.

Kind of like a city wide clearance sale. With the increase in stores in the Winona area like K-Mart, Shopko & Fleet Farm, the drugstores, 5 & dime & specialty shops downtown died off, as did Crazy Days.

That's pretty cool that Shakopee is mentioned. I'll have to watch it again, I didn't catch it.

It's about 30 minutes into the movie after he destroys the road.
There are two other cars that come to town just passing through.


After checking into the crazy days theory I was told Shakopee doesn't have it.
I thought they did.
Maybe they did before but don't now.
I am not sure.... It must be another one of the citys around there but I've heard it before.
So I stand corrected but yes they do say Shakopee.

Back in the day in Shakopee there was something called crazy days.
It was more a small festival filled with sidewalk sales and horse trails/rides.
For some reason they changed the name to derby days. Probably because of Canterbury downs.


So my initial thought.... I was right.

Can't have someone making reference to MN without that Norwegian accent.
We all talk funny in MN.
