Most meaning full Musician ever.
Who do you guys think is the most meaningful artist ever?
I have to say 2pac, he was different from the rest of rappers. He talked about the mistreatment of females and life with financial troubles along with still being a regular rapper.
I think he is the most meaningful in my mind.
Who do you guys think?
P.S make sure to post a reason to!
EDIT:Just so you guys know by meaningful, I meant the artist who affected you the most.

What does that even mean?
The one who spoke most about the troubles of the world in his/her time?
If so, that's Bob Dylan.
End of discussion.

Re: Most meaning full Musician ever.
Gotta agree with Zeus on the Dylan call.
Most meaningful is a broad term though... I personally think Beethoven had some of the most heartfelt music ever written. His 7th Symphony Allegretto (2nd movement) is probably one of the most powerful pieces ever written.Disclaimer: I'm an idiot.

I suppose it depends on what you mean by "musician" and "meaningful".
Certainly, the influence of many many many composers from the 1600s and 1700s are still felt today (mostly in car ads, but I digress).
And there's no way that the the influence of people like Louis Armstrong, George Gershwin, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley can be minimized.
And Elvis was derivative of a strong style of black music that mainstream America couldn't adopt until a white boy started delivering it.
But we're talking "meaningful", not "influential".
(On influence, I think you could make a damn strong argument for Led Zepplin, too).
So "meaningful" seems to have some tenet of social commentary involved.
And that's how I keep coming back to Dylan.
The 60s and the dichotomy between the post-WWII American Dream and the children of that Dream coming of age and not liking what they saw are probably the most socially turbulent times in this country's history.
And Dylan was the strongest voice of that era, IMHO.

Meaningful? Influential?
Townsend-invented the power chord
MC5-invented punk
DJ Kool Herc-invented hip hop
Kraftwerk-invented electronic music
